The women of Rowan
Branch are dedicated to raising funds for
the life-saving work done at Children’s
Hospital & Research Center Oakland. Rowan
Branch, founded in 1952, is part of the
non-profit corporation, Children’s Hospital
Branches, Inc.
Rowan Branch
prides itself on being the single largest
Branch contributors, raising over $270,000 a
year for urgently needed projects including;
an on-site MRI machine, Pediatric Intensive
Care Unit equipment, Operating Room
equipment, Emergency Department Heliport,
and a Cystic Fibrosis Center.
Children’s
Hospital & Research Center Oakland is the
oldest, busiest and most comprehensive
free-standing pediatric medical center
between Los Angeles and Seattle, providing
care to all children, regardless of their
families’ ability to pay. Children’s
Hospital & Research Center Oakland has
Northern California’s only designated
Pediatric Trauma Center and the largest
pediatric Intensive Care Unit in California.
Children’s Hospital Oakland Research
Institute (CHORI) is among the top 10
federally funded pediatric research centers
in the nation. Children’s scientists strive
for fundamental advances in basic and
applied bio-medical sciences. Our research
is generally targeted towards curing
pediatric disease; much of it has important
implications for people of all ages in areas
such as cancer, obesity, asthma, and
cardiovascular disease and aging. |
